Many people find the vast amount of nutrition-related information both confusing and contradictory. My unique approach is to provide individualised advice and guidance, which is underpinned by research and evidence. As a Registered Dietitian and Registered Nutritionist, I can offer advice on a wide range of nutrition and diet-related concerns and conditions.
My main area of specialism is the effect of diet on the brain, and how nutrition can impact on important aspects of cognitive health including behaviour, mood, and attention deficit, to name but a few.
I am currently Head of Nutrition at Oxford Brookes University. For the previous five years, I held the post of Principal Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Hertfordshire. Prior to that, I spent five years as a research scientist at the University of Oxford, investigating the cognitive effects of nutrition in children, adolescents, young adults, and prisoners. I currently maintain collaborative research links with the University of Oxford as an academic visitor.
I received clinical training in various London teaching hospitals including Imperial and Royal Free. I hold a Masters with Distinction in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, a PhD in intermediary metabolism, and a BSc in Applied Biology.
